GCSE English Language — Spoken Language Endorsement

The Spoken Language Endorsement is a separately assessed speaking task that sits alongside the written GCSE English Language papers. It is reported separately on the certificate as Pass/Merit/Distinction/Not Classified — it does not add to or subtract from the written grade, but is required for a full, valid qualification.

What the Task Involves

A short spoken presentation on a topic of the candidate's choosing, followed by questions and answers and a structured discussion — assessing clarity, ability to adapt to an audience, and spoken confidence.
