Entry Deadlines

Whichever series you're entering, deadlines generally fall into three windows. Missing the standard window doesn't mean you've missed your chance to sit the exam — it simply means a late fee applies.

Standard EntryNo additional fee. This is the window to aim for — it guarantees your place and your choice of exam board.

Late EntryAccepted after the standard deadline, subject to an additional late entry fee set by the exam board.

Very Late EntryAccepted in exceptional circumstances close to the exam window, subject to a higher late fee and depending on availability.

Exam Series

Summer Series

The main series, open to all our subjects and available to every candidate regardless of age or circumstance. Entries for the following summer typically need to be in several months in advance of the exams themselves.

Autumn/November Series

A smaller series, generally limited to GCSE Mathematics and English Language, and usually restricted to candidates aged 16 or over (or those resitting). Entry windows fall several weeks before the exams, in early autumn.

Exact entry deadlines are published by AQA, Edexcel and OCR each academic year and can shift slightly from year to year, so we don't publish specific calendar dates on this page to avoid them going out of date.
